About Us
Sunlight
of the Spirit grew out of a response by Karen Dotson and Ed Connolly to
a call to love and serve their community by creating an environment
supportive of recovery from addiction and interfaith spirituality.
Prior to their recent retirement from public service, both Karen and Ed
worked in the education field helping those with special needs gain
access to quality educational opportunities and needed student support
services. Sunlight of the Spirit represents Karen and Ed’s commitment
to continue to grow spiritually in their own recovery and in fellowship
with others. They are associates with the Sisters of Social Service and
incorporate the Benedictine principles of balance, works of service,
shared faith, hospitality, and ongoing spiritual development into their
daily lives and the operation of Sunlight of the Spirit.
Sunlight of the Spirit is supported by an amazing team, faithful friends in the community, and guests who find a serene oasis in the midst of busy Sacramento.
Blessings of love and light,
